Quetzalcoatl Molded Mask by Namingway Quetzalcoatl Molded Mask by Namingway
This molded mask is of the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl. He's loosely based off of a stone carving of a feathered serpent from Teotihuacan. But, of course, I also tried to mix it with my own style. I even included some Aztec glyphs around his snout. In all, he is roughly 10" wide and 9.5" tall. He is 6.5-7 inches across the eyes for the purposes of fitting. Each mask has an artist's stamp on the back. I cast and paint each one as an order comes in.

This mask is $110 and may be found here- [link]

As a mexican, I know what I'm talking about when I say this is a marvelous job. You did justice to the god of my ancesters: the feathered serpent, bridge between sky and earth.

Thank you! That means a lot. I studied archeology in school, so I tried to be accurate while still having some of my own style in it. I somewhat based this mask off of wall mountings at Chichen Itza.

As much as I could. The base is made out of urethane. Uncured it is hazardous, but cured it should be fine. A lot of common household objects are made out of urethane. The paint is acrylic, which has been sealed. I avoid latex because a lot of people have allergies.

THe answer to that is actually pretty complicated because the properties of it depend a lot on what variety of urethane it is. But generally, it's a resin. The kind that I use keeps its shape but is slightly flexible.

Well, this stuff is used to make masks, household items, etc. It's always possible to have an allergic reaction to it. People can have allergies to anything. So if you're prone to having allergies to plastics and resins, I would avoid it. Otherwise, it's safe for wearing.

People can have allergies to just about anything. But yes, if you don't have such an allergy then it's safe to wear. I wouldn't make a wearable item out of any material that's not safe to use for such a purpose.
